Q:

How often is interest compounded?

A:

Interest is compounded and paid differently depending on the savings instrument that you use. Some of our most popular savings instruments are listed below:
  • On regular savings, dividends will be compounded every month and dividends will be credited to your account every month on daily balances over $30.
  • On Money Market accounts, dividends will be compounded every month and dividends will be credited to your account every month on balances over $2500.
  • On IRA Savings accounts, dividends will be compounded every month and dividends will be credited to your account every month.
  • On CDs, unless otherwise paid, interest will be compounded every day and Interest will be generally credited to your account every quarter. However, you may specifically request that interest be credited monthly, semi-annually, annually, or at maturity. Alternatively, you may choose to have interest paid to one of your accounts at Deseret First Federal Credit Union or have a check sent to you rather than credited to this certificate account.
