Deseret First and Apple Pay
There’s a new way to pay with your Deseret First Credit Union VISA debit and credit cards– without actually swiping the cards. Apple Pay is now available at Deseret First.
How Do I Enter My Deseret First VISA Debit or Credit Card in Apple Pay?
Cards can be added to the following iOS devices: iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Watch, iPad Air 2, or iPad mini 3.
To add a card, use the following steps:
Step 1: Begin by opening ‘Settings.’ Scroll down and open ‘Passbook and Apple Pay,’ and select ‘Add Credit or Debit Card.’ (On iPhones, you can also just open Passbook, then swipe down and tap the plus sign)
Step 2: Fill in the credit/debit card information. You may either use the device’s camera to snap a photo of the card, or enter the card information manually. Note: If this is the first card entered, then it will be your default payment card. You can switch the default card in Settings.
Is My Card Information Secure?
Your card numbers are not stored on your device nor on Apple’s server. They are not transmitted with payment to the merchant.
Instead of using your card number, Apple creates, encrypts, and securely stores a Device Account Number for your device which is linked to your Deseret First VISA card associated with your iTunes account, or you can enter the card information for the first time by using Passbook. It’s easy, secure, private.
